      Tempest  -  Triptych   2010    oil on canvas   60 x 180 cm

The main theme in Rosalind Porter’s landscape paintings is the horizon. This manifests itself in the repeated attempt to   revoke limitations. She is concerned with the visual boundary between heaven and earth, between outside and inside and between true reality and  “another” world. In her striking paintings, which are of quite individual chromaticity, she seeks to interpret and fathom  these boundaries particularly. Also in the paintings, which are generally done in oil, the conception of reality recedes completely in favour of a spiritual and emotive involvement.
