In contrast to the abstract landscape paintings her representational work permit’s an enhanced perception which is intentionally provoked and sought for by the artist. Despite the here obvious graphical portrayal, Rosalind Porter aims to give each realistic painting a metaphysical presence. As a result she attains a depiction which is nevertheless beyond reality and therefore similar to the expression in her landscapes.
